The standard brown leather case for the Curta was to be used in place of the metal or plastic cannister that was supplied with the Curta. There were also leather cases sold that could hold the Curta already in its plastic or metal cannister.
[NOTE: If you try to put a Curta Type I already in its metal cannister into a Type II brown leather case, you will break the leather case...I've done it...JackChristensen]
There were dark brown (almost black) leather cases made for the Curta, too, but those are exceedingly rare.
