That beatiful meadow, at the right side of the path, is the current view of the very same location where all our toys where manufactured.

The industrial infrastructure of Contina was lately bought by the local powerful Hilti Group (professional tool manufacturer). Hilti eventually tore later down the old Contina buildings and built up a new larger plant. Hilti, after the recent devaluation of the Euro against the Swiss Franc, decided to relocate at least this part of their manufacturing out of FL/CH. The municipality of Mauren bought the land to them with special and attractive conditions, and after a very expensive ecologic recovery plan, the contaminated soil after decades of industrial use was removed, washed, reinstaled. In the middle of the process a massive underground channel system was built to catch all the residual contamination that may have remained and through rain infiltration is collected, purified and returned to the soil...

Today is an almost complete return to nature. Cycles are to be found everywhere...

Voila - Thought some of the Enthusiast at the other side of the pond may be curious about what became Contina today.

Last but not least: the tiny yellow house in the upper / left corner is where I live...

Happy calculations!
