Here is an overview about the different production variations of Curta Type I and II.
The information is collected from different web sources.

I'm not sure about the different canisters... they have no direct relation to the serial numbers, so there is only an estimation possible.

Not sure how I missed this post. Very cool. What do the numbers mean in the boxes? 968 known samples? but what is 901?
wait I think I got it those are serial numbers. In the () is the serial number of the one with that feature closest to start or end number.
Really cool, love the pics so its clear.

And yes, you're reading the tables in the right way...
Variations of Curta Type II was updated with an other variation of the base plate.

... another update - this time metal cranks variations
Variations of Curta Type I

Curta Type I - without / with white engraved arrow
Curta Type II - short crank / long crank, with white engraved arrow
- are there any short cranks with the arrow / or long cranks without the arrow... ?
[Mar 21, 2018] there are about 1300 Curtas Type II with Crank metal short and with arrow _________________ :: m u r f f

... now with 13 differentiators for Curta Type 1 respective 16 for Curta Type 2 with corresponding pictures.

Hi Richard!
I have been cleaning my collection and found a variation that you could include between 1 and 2.
My 3198 has "Curta" apostrophe like your 2 var. but it has also numbers in the upper ring. If you need pics I coul try to take some good pictures.
