(...where there is a canister, there is usually a Curta! ...almost)
it is a "CONTINA" calculater in a "CONTINA" canister!
In 1948, 100 sales prototypes (Herzstark biography: "100 Verkaufsprototypen") were produced in the new Contina AG factory, which were
also sold or sent to possible future distributors.

Thank you very much! Yes I am very pleased with this exceptionally beautiful and early copy of Curta history.
...one might imagine that there are still many treasures waiting in hiding to come to light one day.

Some facts - current state of knowledge...
--- Canister "CONTINA" - probably a unique prototype - in perfect condition
--- Canister with CONTINA AG Mauren Logo (CM), matt black anodized
--- Only specimen with "CONTINA" inscription on calculator AND canister
--- One of six known samples with "CONTINA" inscription on calculating machine
--- One of about fifteen known samples of the sales prototype series (serial number 901 to 999) built in 1948
