I had one, a very tidy early type 2 number 507441. I was slightly confused about the spring as it was floating around loose inside the machine. I ended up selling it on ebay, although I must admit I can't recall what happened to the spring.

Hi Romano,

Some more data points for you:

57058: No Hole (you know that one)

526879: No Hole
533801: No Hole

The others are currently abroad :-)

All the best,

Peter.

The quietness of my new to me type 2 was a surprise compared to my type 1. I'd bet it has the spring in use. I'll confirm when I'm able and report back.
