Hello all, I have been searching for a Curta for a number of years now, and the stars finally aligned for me to purchase one from a friend. I am happily the owner of Curta II serial number 516139.



The machine seems to work well, but the handle is quite difficult to pull upward into the subtraction position. It feels like oil has congealed in the mechanism, making it difficult. It does move smoothly, just with too much effort, so I am avoiding doing that for fear of bending or damaging the main shaft.

It seems that Romano in Italy is the only one now servicing these machines, is that correct? I would love to have the machine professionally serviced so that it works flawlessly for many more years. Thanks![/img]

For repairs I can recommend Romano, my Curtas have passed through his hands for different reasons and everything is perfect.
