aaaand here we have for sale http://www.ebay.com/itm/early-CURTA-Type-II-Calculator-rare-interim-model-/190689980966?pt=UK_Collectables_Scientific_MJ&hash=item2c66023226#ht_7428wt_1263 number 511904 (internal SN matches base plate) with the later, alternating, slider arrangement. I'm beginning to think there was a period of weeks during which the workers changed over and we will see more of these 'seemingly out of sequence' machines.
