Thanks MURFF!

Number 2 must have been a rare one, what was that, S/N 5000-7000? I have 8335 which doesn't have the quotation marks, and 4498 which came in the original first can.

Ah, these variations. Try to catch 'em all and you'll spend many thousands of dollars.

It's 4020 from May 1948...

I don't know the range of these withe the quotation marks.

PS: you're fast in answering Pete Very Happy

Ha, that's hilarious. My 4498 lives in an identical can...but with opposite threads!

Hmm...I've been looking for that first can for years - and I think Pete has one that doesn't belong to his machine; I have several with the quotation marks, which came with machines 2881 and 3685. I am looking for the matte "system Curt Herzstark" can to complete my Curta N° 000923 ... I used to have one with machine nr. 2096, but I sold that complete with canister - if only I'd have known Smile
Pete, no chance you'd like to trade canisters ?

Cris, sorry but I'm not trading. The original matte-RHT-with-quotation-marks can came with either 2029 or 4498, can't remember which. I think it's correct for 2029 and I'm keeping it.

Hi Pete,

You didn't mention N°2029 in your first post - the matte can is correct for that Curta. N° 4498 would have come in a can with quotation marks. Ah well - if you ever come across an orphaned one of these, keep me in mind Smile
