Hello CURTA Board visitors!

Please have a look on my new and slowly growing web site project http://curta.li !
Please use the feedback form if you like to send a comment or if you like to publish something exciting on my web site.
I'm also interested to buy nice objects around the CURTA theme...

Fabulous. Words can't express what you've done with photography to show off this great little machine.

Please, never let these pictures leave the public domain.

Kudos, my friend!

Best,
CurtaGuy

Murff, those photos are stunning. A clearer display of the four different types would be hard to make. I now know exactly what Curtas I have - one of each!

Thanks!

Again,

THANKS MURFF!

Now THAT'S what I thought the auction was a couple of weeks ago - but I like your photos better, they're very sharp and the lighting/presentation is excellent as always.

That particular example looks like it has the finalized mechanism, correct? With the larger display digits?

Pete, I'm not able to confirm that... compared to my younger type 2 Curtas, the digits are significant smaller.
The English Curta is from a very early series, I think.

Which characteristics are relevant to identify an Curta type 2 with unfinished mechanics?

PS: later I will publish a series of pictures to compare the different Curtas...

There's a black-body type 2 (#550!) on sale on a famous auction site right now...bit expensive for me but good (by auction standards) photography. And Murff, I think you're right - the digits ARE smaller than my grey-body 2s.

Pete (and all other board visitors)

In addition please have a look to the now finished
Curta Type 2 comparison

On the bottom you can switch between the three variants and with the arrows (top right) you can select the view (please allow some time to load the pictures: click ones and wait for the new picture)

Happy spring time!

Took me a second to get the hang of it but...Murff, sincerely, hats off.

This is without a doubt the most informative Curta Type 2 pictorial available.

Folks, if you haven't checked it out, remember that whatever view you're seeing, you can scroll to the bottom and then flip back and forth among the three (!) pristine examples of the Type 2 to see the differences. Fascinating, and fantastic in execution.

I just wish all my Curtas were in such great shape!
