red restoration

you maybe made this experience:

and the Curta is full of this brown dirt...

I did...

So I replaced all the rubber things with red wool felt and the dry white (also brown) o-ring
with a fresh red silicone o-ring (ebay 10 pcs for about US$ 7.00)

That's it - and my Curta feels like new born!

PS: the o-rings are from here:
Curta Type I: http://www.ebay.com/itm/230988836393
Curta Type II: http://www.ebay.com/itm/230918760897

I would like to replace my small and large pads with closed cell foam rubber, what did you use to cut the circles so neatly? I have spend hours looking for a punch or cutter without much success.

We have a very clever name for it in English -- a circle cutter.
