I have a mk1 curta in excellent working order which I use regularly on regularity rallies. Unfortunately I didn't get a case with the curta and often have to leave it in my bag whilst being thrown around a rally car. Therefore I would like to know if anyone out there knows of a spare case that may exist?
Also I would be interested in buying a mk2 version to complete the set if anyone is looking to dispose of one at a reasonable price?
Thanks |

I was lucky enough to get a metal canister a number of years ago but I now need another one, does anyone have such a thing at a reasonable price?
Thanks

Actual Curta cases (without the machine) are rare and expensive when they do come up - I don't think I've ever seen one go for less than USD100, it's usually USD400.
What I would do instead is buy a camera lens case and use that, or buy one of the leather cases the Indians are selling on eBay (maybe contact them and make them an offer, they're currently getting big bucks from idiots thinking they're selling genuine NOS Curta cases) or simply get a couple of pieces of PVC and some styrofoam. Sure it'd be a homemade fix but it's not like the ghost of Curt Herzstark is going to waft out of your AC vents and fix you in a beady spectral glare for using your own case, he wouldn't have cared. _________________ Cheers, Pete |

How about one of these new leather cases from Italy? I think that they look quite good, has anyone tried them?
