But it shows that black Curtas are way much more beautiful than the greenish grey ones 
First Curta Type II with red setting knobs was after around serial number 510521... together with the grey body

No, it's a unique assembled Curta Type II - or a conversion
As I know there are no Curtas in this combination:
- plastic crank (Delrin)
- black metal body
- three red setting knobs
What's the serial number?

Not to be snarky, but the there are 2 values.
1) the amount of money it would take for you as the owner to part with it.
2) the amount of money another person would be willing to part with to take it.
And a transaction happens when those to are the same or overlap.
Especially in the case of something like this. If not factory original some collectors might not value it very highly. But others might think it is a great looking combination and willing to pay more.
Do you have the can for it (Plastic?) box? paper work? those three things along probably can make a $100 - $400 swing.
Type 2 of that age, and apparent condition sell on ebay in open auction bidding for $700 - $900 but can also sell on Buy it nows for $600 quickly or are seen sitting for $1k and up. Occasionally someone buys one of the Buy it nows for over $1k
The real value of that is what you put on it. If its at least got a plastic can I'll give you $600. I have 3 already and though I like the look I don't need a 4th especially a type 2. |

Ha, I was just about to say, "That's a true black-body early machine, not a later mod, he's just put reds in an early one!", the retaining pin for the clearing ring being obviously of the early type (among other cues). But you're right it looks cool...like all those custom variants guys made back when they were actually still in production.
Dunno how much value those modified versions will have to collectors, now that people aren't showing them off at rally meets etc.
