I have recently brought a Curta Type 2 with a very low serial number, unfortunately it is not working properly. Does anyone know of some basic diagnostics I could undertake to ascertain the problem?
I want to have a rough idea before sending it for repair, I am thinking of using the service in Italy because I can't find anyone in the UK - any recommendations would be appreciated |

Hi, can you please describe the behaviour - maybe it's only a question of some inside dirt.
There is no special diagnostic method - only some basic calculation... or you can setup the Curta to basic state then subtract 1 and you will get all "9" in the revolution and result counter, then add 1 and all should be zero, again.
Maybe someone could supporting you in solving the problem....
And, what's the serial number of your Curta? _________________ :: m u r f f

Can't add much more than that, other than the service it Italy, appears to be one of if not the only option for getting service. Feedback from others has all been very good.
Keep us informed. |

Just received my Curta back from Romano - excellent service and very reasonable given that it turned out the unit was seized and had several broken parts - very happy and would highly recommend. |
