Apologies for only just catching up with this thread, I'm an avid watch collector and enthusiast, you may recall my thread about my modified Vostok Amphibia AKA the 'Curta Amphibia'. Of course I would want to be an owner of one of these if it came to fruition!

I'm a very active member of a watch forum that is hosted by the owner of a British microbrand called 'Timefactors'. The forum is 'TZ-UK', and I'm 'Mr Curta' on there.

I have several Timefactors watches, they are all extremely well thought out and designed in consultation with the forum enthusiasts. The price point is excellent for the quality. Many are now long sold out and change hands on auction sites for well over the original price, something that not many small watch brands achieve. It's a one-man operation with the cases, dials and so on being produced by highly regarded manufacturers once Eddie, the owner, has finalised the design.

You could do worse than look at some of Eddies creations and the threads discussing them and learn something about his successful designs and processes.

Here is the Timefactors web shop: https://www.timefactors.com

Here's the sub-forum where the watches are discussed: https://forum.tz-uk.com/forumdisplay.php?22-Time-Factors-Watches

Here's my thread on the modified Vostok: https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.php?355407-The-Curta-Amphibia

You might be able to do this with an ETA Mecaline Unitas 6497-1 or 6497-2. A large movement at 16½ lignes and featuring excellent power reserve. I'd personally prefer the higher beat rate version. I think that it's around $200 which represents excellent value. Don't even consider the cheap Seagull ST3600 clone.

Oh and here's a cheeky photo of the Curta Amphibia which will have to do me for now!

Thank you "Mr Curta" for all this information!
I will contact Eddie for his estimation of a possible release of a Curta Watch...

If there will be some activity, I will join the TZ-UK forum.

Maybe...

Cool

Hello murff,

that's my interpretation of a CURTA watsch - it's just a rough investigation by now without any lettering and so on - but it's a close a you can get to the original. I decided not to integrate the clearing lever. The watch only shows minutes an hours.

Cheers
Sebastian
