Numbers
Basically, the serial number on a Curta was for maintain and manage fabrication and service/guaranty tasks. Today we're able to find the date of production of a Curta - more or less accurate.
A serial number (or a number in general) has also a kind of mystic component or specific reference. Maybe a year of birthday (Type II, 501961) or a mathematical number like a prime number (Type I, 39133) or palindromic number (Type I, 6116). Or a famous product (Type I, 4711) - or even a "Schnapszahl" (Type I. 54321 or 22222). Also, of interest with Curta serial numbers are the lowest/highest number of a specific type or fabrication variation.
In my collection most of the numbers are not so spectacular - only maybe these samples:
510000 - die Zehntausendste - the ten thousandth Curta Type II
500839 - a prime number - Curta Type II
8778 - a palindromic number - Curta Type I
. . . what makes your Curta serial number so unique?
