The Liechtenstein National Museum in Vaduz owns unique calculating machines from Curt Herzstark's estate.
These machines are originals from the period from 1938 to the end of 1950 (Herzstark's departure from Contina AG).
This is a unique feature of this collection.

This complete collection of the oldest machines from the development history of the Curta calculating machine will now be shown in a special exhibition in the Liechtenstein National Museum from 20 May to 29 August 2021.

The developmente of the CURTA began in Liechtenstein 1947.
The first protoypes ware called LILIPUT. Then name changed mid of 1947 to CONTINA and afterwards (March/April 1949) the the calculator got his final name CURTA.

The LILIPUT at the Liechtenstein Nationalmuseum in Vaduz ist the only know sample of a LLIPUT.



This machine is an experimental model, probably from the beginning of 1947. On the clearing plate is written "Made in Liechtenstein by CONTINA AG Mauren". On a later drawing of the clearing plate from July 1947, there is no longer any inscription.
The prototype was built in the hall of the Hirschen inn in Mauren. Curt Herzstark's development department was rented there. The Contina AG factory building was not yet finished.
