I am new to the Curta world and I have a Curta Type 2 for sale. It is in excellent condition, but the bottom plate/cushion is missing. From what I have read on this website and others, there is supposed to be some kind of round plate with lettering on it, or a pad of some kind. Either way, it's not there. Otherwise this Curta is in very good cosmetic condition - it just needs a light cleaning on the outside to get rid of some dust. It has been sitting inside a desk in a climate-controlled area for at least the last 30 years, so there is no corrosion or rust. There is also no brassing or deep scratches. It looks like it was used very little. As near as I can tell, everything works on it. I do not know how to work it, but everything moves properly, there are no signs of malfunction, and when I turn the crank the numbers on the top change. It does not have the box, papers, or cannister - just the calculator itself. Listed below are links to photos that are stored on my PhotoBucket account : http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj24/Meteoritethrower/Meteorites/Curta/curta-1.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj24/Meteoritethrower/Meteorites/Curta/curta-2.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj24/Meteoritethrower/Meteorites/Curta/curta-a.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj24/Meteoritethrower/Meteorites/Curta/curta-bottom.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj24/Meteoritethrower/Meteorites/Curta/curta-top.jpg I am a long-time online trader who currently collects and sells meteorites. So vintage calculators are not my cup of tea. I'd much rather sell it and buy meteorites with the proceeds. I have a 520+ feedback on eBay that are all positives and I have 75+ ratings on Cloudy Nights which is a large online Astronomy community where I am also a forums moderator. I have a reputation as a fair and honest trader, so have confidence that this offer is for real and not some kind of scam. I also trade telescopes, so I know how to properly pack and ship delicate items. MAKE ME AN OFFER on this Curta and if we agree on a price, I will pay for USPS Priority Insured shipping with Signature Confirmation. (no lowball offers please) I accept PAYPAL ONLY for all of my online transactions. Thanks for looking and feel free to contact me with any questions or to request more photos. Mike Gilmer |
